Anna Wintour Goes From “The Devil Wears Prada” to Glam Squad Goddess

British singer Adele had better bring it on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards on Sunday. As if being a nominee for best record for her hit Chasing Pavements isn’t a big enough deal, the Amy Winehouse successor is being styled by the She Bangs She-Devil herself, Vogue’s Anna Wintour.

“It was just like The Devil Wears Prada,’ Adele said. Then Wintour offered to style her for the Grammies, she added in disbelief. “I got a really nice dress,” Adele said. “I don’t ever wear dresses. I wear dresses with tights and flat shoes and a cardigan. But I am going to get my boobs out and everything. It’s going to be quite a big deal.”

But just because Anna has front row seats at every fashion show on the planet and can raid the best clothes racks outside of Barney, there’s no guarantee that Adele will be a shoe-in (ha!) for “Best Dressed.” Remember Kiera Knightley’s “WTF?! Was She Attacked By A Weed Wacker?” cover? And that weird Photoshop-y thing they did to Gwyneth Paltrow where it looks like her head is floating a full foot in front of her neck? With all those fashion faux pases, plus those pesky and persistent rumors of her impending retirement weighing on her padded shoulders, Anna will be out for Style Redemption.

One word of advice to Adele: Don’t let anyone near you with anything that even remotely resembles a Ziggy Stardust bolero jacket. You just know that Andre Leon Talley is still in a snit because everyone turned their nose up at his grand fashion vision. Though considering some of the bizarre looks that have shown up at the Grammies, “Best Dressed” is kind of relative.

The British torch singer competes in four categories at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, including record of the year for the breakup ballad “Chasing Pavements.”
