The Daily Pump Takes a Look Back at the Most Absurd Moments of the Campaign Trail to The White House as Reported by ShoeMinx

After all those months worrying about a train wreck at the Democratic National Convention, we can all relax. Everyone in Denver was on their best behavior. There was not groin kicking, hair pulling or name-calling. We heard Anne Hathaway may have hugged Josh Lucas a little too “democratically”.

Paris Ponied up to the Plate and was like, “Totally Ready to Lead”. We just loved the gold pumps.

Then Heidi Montag Pulled a Copy Cat Maneuver and Mounted McCain. Ew. One of our fav posts ever. But just for the Fendi Shoes.

Then there was The Great Red Pump Controversy of 2008 starring Sarah Palin, which ShoeMinx officially kicked off. We love being ahead of the curve.

And let’s not forget Cindy McCain’s $300,000 suit. Which was only somewhat nice.

Then there was something about Bristol Palin getting “blessed” after about 4 minutes with a guy named Levi and a good ol’ Republican Shot Gun wedding to air in primetime.

Oh, here’s a link to the Made-for-TV Wedding AKA The Hills post.

Which got Lindsay Lohan all Citizen Journalist-y - hot and bothered about teen pregnancy. AKA Cry for Attention.

Then there was the scary sight of Sarah Palin in a Bikini. An the Halloween costumes that flooded the racks across America. Anyone want to play Caribou Barbie?

Did we mention that Obama like to bowl and that we like Yes We Can shoes?

You want a transformative political leader? In Obama, you may have one, but don’t expect him to do that transforming all by himself. Obama’s good, but no one’s that good. For Obama to shepherd in real change — economic, social or in foreign policy, whatever “change” means to you — he needs robust, supportive social and political movements to tap into.
