Oscar-winning Formula: Blonder, Tanner, More Bombshell-like Look
Titanic star Kate Winslet has racked up an impressive resume since her break-out role but seems to be perennially pigeon-holed as the fair English rose. But with Oscar buzz circulating around her two new movies, Revolutionary Road, which reunites her with her “Iceberg ahead!” co-star Leonardo DiCaprio, and The Reader, Kate has launched a red carpet campaign to finally get a statue in her hand after five previous noms. Gone is the “Catherine and Healthcliff on the misty moors” persona. Her new role: Blonde Bombshell.
First up, she showed her sexy side in a Catherine Deneuve spread in Vanity Fair, sporting an eyeful of bare skin, fur coat and f–ck me heels. Nary a Laura Ashley print in sight. Jack would have filled an entire notepad with images of that come hither pose.

Kate showed her curves are just as bodacious when fully clothed at the premiere of The Reader in a low-cut Herve Leger dress and some pretty fierce strappy satin t-bar sandals. And to go with her hot new look: bronzed skin and blonder than blonde locks. The English rose has bloomed into quite the little hothouse flower.

But she really upped the hotness ante for the red carpet parade at the opening of Revolutionary Road. Kate is a total babe in a figure-hugging Balmain dress with a jewel-encrusted shoulder strap that saves the look from being just another LBD (*cough Jennifer Aniston cough*), paired with black Louboutin peep-toes.
We’ve always loved Kate for her ability to embrace her curves in a town full of less than size zeros and look elegant, sophisticated, and totally glamorous. But we never knew the girl had it in her to look so damn…HOT! Charlize Theron snagged an Oscar statue for her image make-under, so the reverse should work in Kate’s favor too, right? If hotness counts for anything she would totally get our vote.

The sixth (and seventh) Oscar nod is the charm! Gold heels like these from Guess totally deserve a red carpet moment and are the perfect accessory to go with the little golden guy statue.
