Formal Shoes

Graduation parties, proms, weddings and formal occasions are always fun to shoe shop for. We all want evening shoes that sparkle, shine and help us make an entrance, but not all of us have a fortune to spend on them.
Comfort is essential, and you’ll want your formal shoes to be special - but if they don’t work with your dress, it can result in a fashion faux pas you’d rather forget. Your formal shoes and formal dress may both be perfect, but they still may not be perfect together. Here are some tips for insuring that your shoes are a perfect match for the evening dress you have in mind.
Fancy shoes for a simple dress; or simple shoes with an elaborate gown. This rule of thumb can help take some of the confusion out of finding the right match. By eliminating the need to match embellishments and detailing, the perfect match is more easily attained.
If you do choose both shoes and a dress with embellishments, the details should coordinate. For example, rhinestone or crystals on your shoes will go well with bejeweled or shiny, sequined dresses; while beaded shoes will work nicely with pearled dresses.
With satin uppers, and over-sized bows, American Eagle slides are sexy and glamorous. And priced at around $25, it would be difficult to find a more dynamic evening shoe at a more affordable price. We’d never associate American Eagle with evening shoes, so this is our favorite new find in the “fast fashion” category.
Combining trendiness and sex appeal into one affordable package, there’s a lot to love about Chinese Laundry formal shoes. Their liberal use of rhinestone buckles on the ankle straps, the knotted vamps, and satin uppers all rock. Many of their sexy evening shoes feature a .75″ partially concealed platform sole, which add stability to the 4.5″ heels.
